Step-by-Step

So, if you have ever tried to wonder how exactly is hydraulic valve repair done, here are the steps we follow. We like to think we’re a bit more efficient than other hydraulic maintenance companies when it comes to hydraulic control valve repair, something we’re quite proud of. Here’s how it works:

1. Identify the valve type – In the case of your hydraulic valve problem, your valve comes to us for repair under the care of a master hydraulic valve mechanic with years or even decades of experience. The first thing we need to do when we receive your valve is figure out exactly what type of valve it is. Hydraulic valves are an extremely wide-ranging descriptor, and we could be talking about anything from a cam valve to a much more sophisticated servo valve. We’re qualified to work with any kind of hydraulic valve, but the type will factor into the method we use for the repair of your valve.

2. Disassemble the Valve – After determining what we are working with, we disassemble that valve. Our technicians examine the valve to identify any defects, wear, or other issues that could have caused the valve to fail. We examine every detail of the valve critically such that we cannot miss any potential issue, from a leaking O-ring to some sort of contaminants affecting the spool.

3. Verify all systems to isolate the cause of the issue – Once that’s done, it’s ready to go to electrical where we put it back together and start testing the systems electronically to locate the source of the problem. The elimination of the valve will depend on how complex the valve is but we spend as long as is necessary to remove and evaluate every element of the valve that could possibly be problematic. We turn every stone to find the problem behind your valve. If all looks OK, we will move on to replacing the soft seals, which is the next most likely source of the problem. We perform this process in a clean room or area to prevent contamination. You can rest assured that if there’s anything that moves or can be unbolted on the valve, we’ll pull it apart and check it for wear or damage. We will replace the seals and anything else that may need replacing to ensure that the valve meets OEM specifications. In fact, the spool, the actual heart of your hydraulic valve is most often completely fine, which is why we suggest trying hydraulic valve repair before simply replacing your valve. In most cases, it comes down to either some piece of the onboard electronics or a failed seal problem.

4. Re-assemble and final testing – After we find all problems, replace any worn components or seals, and adjust electronics, we re-assemble, then mount on our sophisticated testing equipment to ensure everything is functioning in accordance with OEM specifications.
